I'm sitting here thinking back to the 70s when I was scrounging all the Lightfoot LPs I could find in local recod store bins...learning to play guitar off them...desperate for any kinda news from my favorite new artist (new to me). Flash foward to today and things like YouTube...Lightfoot at your concert command! The Canadian Railroad Trilogy recorded years ago is stunning and reminds me of listening to those LPs years ago. We've got iPods, home-compiled CDs, and forums to share info. I just had to pause at the wonder -- and I work in video!

After years of playing bars, and being sidetracked into a real job: My pledge to myself -- record my own tunes this summer and post on YouTube. I'll let you know when I do!

I love the way you can share thoughts and info with people all around the world -- you realize that we're not so different. I guess the equivalent years ago was a ham radio.

MEMO TO BILL: Record your own songs this summer and put them out there!
You are quite right...technology has made the Earth smaller and the Universe greater. I do wish though that we were all having these conversations in some Pub or Coffee Shop - but as Irish put so well - this is the new ham radio.

Good idea, Bill. I should be doing the same thing. As of yet don't know how to load on to youtube but that should be the least of my troubles...

I might end up doing some of that myself.
