I recall reading somewhere -- in an article or on the internet -- that he did have a tatoo (ouch) and that he has since had it removed (ouch again). I even think it was a rose tatoo. I hope I have this right. I always thought that song had to be written by someone who'd been through the process -- it's so graphic and visual. I mentioned in another post to Wes that my favorite line is about the "water still flowing through the rose on my skin..." and "the boys in the parlor didn't waste any time puttin' it down."

I guess I had it half right -- sort of. Wonder where I read the part about him getting it removed. Well, lately, remembering 50% of what I read is pretty good.
Thanks

I don't think your memory is going. You may very well have read that somewhere. Someone may have written it because they didn't see the tattoo. It's pretty small and it isn't very obvious and just the way he has to hold his arm playing guitar, or if he wears long sleeves, you wouldn't see it.
Maybe someone didn't see it and figured he had it removed.
Fear not ... your memory is still intact!!
