A great find modem .I think that in an earlier thread the recording date was discussed and the consensus was that although the broadcast was in 1972 the recording was sometime in 1971 so your picture neatly confirms this fact

It's only avaialble with BBC i-player and allows you to keep and view it for ONLY 28 days, or so it says, but I have never yet managed to get it work, so I just view them on-line for the 7 days that they remain available.

This was the first time I've seen Red Shea up close playing "If You Could Read My Mind." Absolutely superb - he did a great job on my most favorite song in the entire world.

Aaaarrrgh! None of the links are working. I'll be pleased to get something that works -my user name @rocketmail.com.......

Watching Red Shea play is just an amazing thing. I loved when it was just those three - saw them twice that way. Later versions of the band were and are just fine of course.

Welcome, Philip, and join the bunch. Of late, I've been something of a lurker, what with all that's happening around here. I'm the one who usually finds out things 2 - 3 days after the fact (rest in peace, Terry!).
That said, I've been a Gord fan since '74, and I bought COTS(Cold On the Shoulder) in '75, and was hooked. Then I found Gords Gold I, and realized I needed to start collecting in earnest in two directions, the past, and future!
I've been to only a couple GL concerts, but enjoyed them very much. I strongly advise you to find a concert this year, and go see him.

Again, welcome!

welcome! I have been a fan since 1971, though I was a child and unable to purchase albums on my own. I began my collection of past and future when i hit high school. The concerts are great, so I agree, find one and experience the lightfoot of now. It will be different without Terry, but well worth seeing.

It's really interesting to see Red's capo positions (or lack of capo here and there). I always assumed he'd capo at the same fret as Gord on each song, but he's really all over the place. Makes more sense how he came up with his parts, fingerpicking and all.
