I just came from a discount store that had a fair group of 45rpm singles. I've strictly budgeted my $$ so I wouldn't go "hog wild" & bankupt myself.

I found 2 that I thought to be most unusual & rare. One is a 60's UA single called,"Keem-O-Sabe" by a group called Electric Indian! :D

The other 45 is none other than the theme song from the late 60s early 70's Sat. morning show "The Banana Splits"!! LOL! :D Titled "The Tra-La-LaSong". It's on Decca and nerly 40 years old.

Just thought I'd share.

Hey,T.T. ; Be glad you don't have my mind. Why?

I heard that song all the way back when I was 3,in watching the syndicated reruns in '71,and that tune has never left my head....ever!

Like you,it'll pop intomy head and I'll idly hum it as well and sing the "one banana" etc. words.

I think the best way to cure yourself in this case is,if you have Hi-Def cable, tune into the Boomerang channel and watch the show, record it,play the theme over & over 'til you know it 100%.
Then as often as you can sing it out loud until your brain rejects it. :D It's only a 2 & 1/2 min. song anyway.

I'd do that myself but songs never leave my head!

On another note, speaking of 45's & top 40 hits (which the B. Splits are not!)I did a total count of "Top 40" hits that I own ('55 to last year) and the grand total is 6,130!

That's a combo of LP's-casettes & c.singles-45's-CD'LPs & CD singles. Whew!!
#6000 was Roy Orbison's,"Breaking Up Is Beakin' My Heart".

it wasn't the Lonnie Donnegan version but I thought it was funny then, now it's just amusing.
