Default The gift of Gord for Christmas...

I am surprised that this hasn't been kicked around some already, so I'll toss it out there...

I Gave... My dear mother (true Lightfoot fan) the DVD of "Harry James, Last of the Wild Bunch". She has thoughly enjoy this!

I Received... a rare copy of Maclean's Magazine, May 1978, with cover story featuring Gord, very cool.
Also a "got gordon lightfoot" tee shirt.... as in the "got milk" ad campaign. Both items from my wife.

Looks like you got/gave some good loot this Christmas. I didn't get any gord related gifts, but did treat myself to a ticket for the Keswick in June. They arrived in the mail on the 26th.

BTW I'd love a gord tshirt - your wife seems like a very thoughtful person.

It's not a bad movie, although Lightfoot is less than compelling in his role.

The actual title though is "Harry Tracy: The Last of the Wild Bunch"

A good, sensible question that has been asked before. I forget the answer, LOL.

JohnStinson,

Other than the music and books Gordon has written (as well as some things I am too tired to remember), there is no marketable merchandise. No hats, shirts, or jackets that EMP sells. Yes, you are free to make anything for your self but you can not sell anything. My husband and I make buttons and share with friends. I have a couple awesome Gordon Lightfoot purses. They are one a kinds made special for me. My friend, Kathy made a very special jacket that Gordon and all the men in the orchestra have signed. I have seen other people wearing special Lightfoot shirts.

It is not legal to make and then sell anything that has Gordon's picture or likeness. EMP ownes all the rights. Maybe we will meet during GordQuest 2008 and I can give you a button.

Good luck and best wishes for a wonderful New Year.
