Hi Guys,

Just saw an add for a report on VR Land news (Toronto Cable 20) about a report coming up tongith at 11pm about the proposed Lightfoot museum in Orillia. Don't know if Lightfoot himself will be interviewed but I intend to watch it. Will let you know what it's about.

can't find anything on-line Kenyon - what did you see on VR?
This is in today's Orillia paper:

Lightfoot will return to croon in hometown
Makeup concert set for three-plus years following 2002 illness

Staff
Local News - Tuesday, March 01, 2005 @ 08:00

Orillia’s son, crooner Gordon Lightfoot, is coming home for a long-awaited makeup concert at the Orillia Opera House on Dec. 3, 2005.

One of two scheduled benefit concerts in September 2002 was cancelled after Lightfoot was rushed to McMaster University Medical Centre in Hamilton for emergency stomach surgery.
The Orillia-born singer, then 63, was slated to perform a benefit concert that night for The Sunshine Festival Theatre Company and Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital.

Those who have kept their original tickets are in luck. They will be honoured at this year’s concert, set for 8 p.m. in the Lightfoot Auditorium.

All remaining tickets will be on sale at the Opera House box office, starting March 21 at 11 a.m., on a first-come basis. Tickets are $40 a person. For more details, call 326-8011.

See ya on Dec.3 Gord!

It looks like the article in Orillia Today was similar to what was said last night on the new VR. Basically it was a 2 minute clip of Lightfoot performing at the Orillia Opera House in September 2002 (the night before he got sick) and then some tourism people talking about how a Lightfoot Museum would help Orillia and give people in the region something to come and see about their local history. Not much else I'm afraid. But still cool.

char, move to Orillia and get hired (a prime candidate!) to run that new joint, you can put that mantle on casters and wheel it up the 400
