i was moderately dissappointed that the release of the new greatest hits album has delayed the release of the big 4-something i have been waiting for for a long time...plus some of the tracks on the album are hardly what i would call uncle gordo's greatest. speaking of waiting--does anyone know of any way i can get my hands on a copy of "waiting for you"-thanks

E-Bay sometimes has "Waiting For You". search under Gordon Lightfoot.
Final 4 should be out in June or so hopefully.

Yes I obtained copy on E-Bay for $12 end of last year, CD does pop up often. Should have no problem.

im not sure how i feel about gord releasing his old material. if anyone really knows him on a personal level he really feels that this is not is best work. obviously to his fans it dosnt matter. i really think the greatest hits collabertion was excellant. it gives people the opportunity to hear what else gord has written and played, and who knows i bet they have heard more than just that one song they bought the album for.

thanks , bossman

I'll buy all final four the day they're released. AND you've got to admit vinyl is hard to play in the car or the beach for that matter. Bill

uncle gordo????
what??
and who cares what gord likes personally??
i am a gordon lightfoot fan, and i care about what songs "i" want to hear, not what gord would like to hear after having recorded it.
let's be real, people.
we are not here to make gord feel 10' tall but to, in our own selfish, fannish way, make ourselves feel 10' tall after having heard a favorite song or having played a favorite song for a potential new gord fan and have him/her respond favorably.
this is not a "kiss ass to the artist" site.
this is an avenue of expression.
expression.
if gord so chooses to express himself on this site, then let it be.
otherwise, express yourself and not what you think your idol would like you to express

lovingly, as always,

jbt

Gordon Lightfoot does not use the Internet at all as he has no computer and has no plans to get one, so the chances of him looking at this site are remote.

Yeah, I noticed that, I just wasn't thinking. My initials are DMD, not DMV.

I think I'll respond to this post from a year ago. (I don't care how old they are,as long as they still have some relevance.) In all honesty,I do not feel any bigger in ego or personality when I've posted here. I feel I've put in my 2 cents,my humor and showed a little of what I'm all about as well as just talking about being an avid listner of Gordon Lightfoot. I would never go to a site for any artist that (I'll put it this way) kneels down and kisses their ring! Any artist who would have or support that kind of thing is no artist I'd listen to. Thankfully,Gordon Lightfoot does not have that kind of an ego. I don't have a working computer either and most likely will never get one unless I one day have kids. I wouldn't deny them that just 'cause it's not my thing. Coming here to the library for this and few other non-music sites is good enough for me. It's been the B! Catch ya on the flipside of Sundown!
