Give a listen to Lori Cullen's soulful, bluesy version (click to hear a 2 minute clip):

oh yeah!! - Lori can really do that great...I've seen her do it live a few times and have the CD...she sings great with Jory too...

Jory told me on Sunday at Massey Hall that she's in the line-up again on jan.19 and 20/07 at Hugh's Room for the Lightfoot tribute shows...

She does a very nice job of it, but I can't help it - my favorite cover of this song is our own Bill Hall's. I get goose bumps just thinking about it

Lori was here in Ottawa as a member of the 'The way we feel' tribute earlier in the year. She did Pussywillows & Cattails and the only word I could muster up was 'delightful'.
Bill's version was recorded on the Friday session, so be prepared for more goose bumps.

Hmmm, Not bad, but not as good as Lightfoot's version.

Kenny Rankin does a pleasant version of this song his album "Silver Morning".

Sorry--am I the only one that detests the clip that I heard? I understand the need not to make it sound like the original (after all, then, why not listen to that, instead?), but I hate the phrasing, don't like her lazy enunciation, don't like how she's made a much more profound song into a more trivial one with her cutsey, fake-sultry/pouty vocalizing. I think it's obvious she's got an excellent voice and a lot of talent, but I think she should have kept her hands off this one. I do remember hearing Kenny Rankin's version many years ago, kind of jazzy; I liked it, although not as much as the original.
