Default CANADA 150 events in OTTAWA with Gordon!

Along with our own royalty, Gordon Lightfoot who will perform, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla will be in attendance!

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa...2017-1.4141055
Canadian folk icon Gordon Lightfoot and the biggest fireworks display in Canada Day history are among the attractions for the country's 150th birthday celebrations in Ottawa.

Canada 150 weekend in Ottawa will be the biggest the country has ever seen, Heritage Minister Mélanie Joly said in a news conference on Thursday in Ottawa.

The festivities will happen in three main locations during the weekend of June 30 to July 2: Parliament Hill, Major's Hill Park and the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau, Que.

Some of the headlining artists coming to Parliament Hill on Canada Day include:

Walk Off The Earth.
Serena Ryder.
Dean Brody.
Alessia Cara.
Gordon Lightfoot.
Cirque du Soleil.
all performers - see link.
20-minute fireworks show

In addition to the music that will fill the capital region, the fireworks display is growing larger as well.

"The fireworks show will last 20 minutes, so it will be a long show and a beautiful show," Joly said. "The [Canadian Museum of History] is really going to be the best spot to watch."

She added that the annual fireworks display will be triple the usual size.

More than 15,000 fireworks will be launched from five different locations surrounding the downtown core, providing a 360-degree view of the illuminated sky.

"This is a once in a lifetime, a really great opportunity," she said.

Audio feedback throughout which nobody could correct. 3 piece band. Too hard to pinpoint? Lol

White Hourse started and deadmau5 pretty much closed. Animal name acts rule. Heh

Piano on Carefree was my highlight. Lol

None of the 3 song choices are thematic. But very recognizable to the masses. So many to choose from that could have.... nous vivon ensemble

Gord and Rick are a heck of a duo.

Happy upcoming 4th to USA friends

Oy, that was aggravating. You wonder if the source was something offstage, like another one of the acts going on or coming off. Otherwise, there weren't even mics on the guitars, where could the feedback come from?

Default Sundown in French

At the Canada Day concert at Parliament Hill, before Gord performed If You Could Read My Mind, three female singers did a brief tribute, singing Carefree Highway and Sundown. One of the ladies sang much of Sundown in French. Most impressive! She had long blonde hair and wore glasses.

Does anyone know her name?

Thanks,

Brian

I would put the banjo gal as having the richest vocal, then Serena... i think the obvious choices were to have them sing Nous Vivons Ensemble with French spec gal featured... then CRT, of course... anyone who hasn't seen Gord sing IYCRMM in the past several TV performances or over the past 50 years, is the type who aint gonna make it past Gord intensively focusing on, and adjusting his mic ...pretty cool stuff, Brian

Pretty cool stuff indeed! I would loved to have listened to those three ladies do a whole set of Lightfoot tunes.
