Well I should be working, but I don't feel like it, so here I am again on Corfid.

I've been thinking about starting this topic for some time now. Our man Gord obviously fits into the category of artists with "Timeless Appeal"--we all know that. But I thought it might be fun to come up with some other names of artists/bands who, like Gord, are no spring chickens, but who continue to record and tour, and DO IT WELL, and continue to sell out concerts. I'm not talking about those folks who reunite after 20 years and go on a reunion tour and play only their old, ancient songs. I'm thinking of those who continue to be creative and productive.

The first name that comes to mind for me is Willie Nelson. He sounds as great as ever, and although he is now 73 years old, he pretty much looks and acts the same as he did when he was 53. He is touring non-stop, year after year, and for some time now it seems the "in" thing to do is to ask Willie to record a duet with you (Beer for My Horses, for example). He's awesome, always has been, always will be.

But what I really wanted to share with you all, is that this past July 4th, I was in Fort Worth, TX, at Willie's 33rd annual 4th of July Picnic, where there were about 30 other artists performing throughout the day and night. That evening, Ray Price took the stage, and he BLEW ME AWAY! Totally blew me away! He sounded TERRIFIC! He is 80 years old, and I'm telling you, if you ever get the chance to see him in concert, GO! OK now I know I broke my own rule here because Ray Price is not, to my knowledge, still recording and touring, but anyway...

Anybody think of anyone else that falls into the category of Timeless Appeal?

Well...dare I say it given some of the recent posts..Bob Dylan, still touring and still writing and recording. I think his latest album is amazing, though I've never cared for him a live performer
