I was driving home from Bowling Green, Ohio last Sunday with the music just blaring! I have a 10 CD player in my car. I was wondering what other people listen to when they are cruising. Here's what I had:
1. Gord's Gold II
2. Harmony
3. Supernatural-Santana
4. Shaman - Santana
5. Poets Say-Song of the Lakes (kinda local group)
6. Takin' My Time-Bonnie Raitt (1975)
7. Traveler - Tim O'Brien
8. Seals and Crofts Greatest Hits
9. Alice Cooper Greatest Hits
10. Gene Pitney Greatest Hits, Disc 1

Okay, diversified yes. Love that old stuff.

I just added a few different ones today, but I'll save that for later.

What are you listening to today???

I have till just now been selecting tracks from a compilation DVD I got for Xmas which is way cool.

The last 2 tracks I put on would be my favs. off it.

The first was " Golden Brown": The Stranglers.
The second was "Epic": Faith No More.

I never thought I would admit this in public but ... I am listening to (for the past week) all four vols. of the Rod Stewart 'Great American Songbook'. Fantastic! Never been a Rod S. fan. Am now.
Also listening to Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orch. 'Swinging the Blues, Dancing the Ska'.
and a privately arranged Lightfoot compilation of all my fave tracks. This one never fails to lift the glums.

Kathy, what else do I listen too?

Tooooo much! :D That is,way too much to list up here.

Let's just say I have a great many acts, from a great many decades. Plus a scant few from this decade (and I do mean "few".

I mostly like 70s,80s,folk and whatever appeals to my senses the best.

Felt like listening to an Aussie artist (as big as Gord is here) named John Williamson. He's AWESOME!! I bought a 2-CD selection of his greatest hits. Sydney Steve could tell you more... he's the one who got me interested in him. Check out his website: www.malleeboy.com

Now all you need is Burton Cummings' "Gordon Lightfoot Does Maggie May" to complete the set, LOL.

The Yard Went on Forever . . . I haven't heard that song in years. I have a small stack of Richard Harris LP's here somewhere. There was some nice stuff on those LP's.

. . . to answer the question: The United Artists Collection, Born to Run, Beneath This Gruff Exterior - John Hiatt.

Speaking of SCTV,I also love their parody of Perry Como. Making fun of the fact that he's sooooo mellow and laid back that,he actually puts himself to sleep onstage while sining one of his own songs! :D LOL!

Perry is one of the many 50's acts I have in my collection.

Today . . .

Tennessee Ernie Ford: Hymns - Dbl CD

Tonite . . .

Same-same . . .

Spirit must be fed.

Perhaps even Perry Como's wonderfully restrained performance of Don McClean's "And I Love You So."

I tried Googling for hours yesterday trying to find something online about that SCTV parody of GL singing every song... I give up. Does anyone know where I can see it? (If possible) Oh... and Dubya, you want to know what us Americans are Googling for. There. I've just admitted it.

Oh, there's a new topic. What was the last thing you googled for :D The last thing I googled was "tape and texture" long story. I'm sure George is just rivited by my searches.

Sheryl,

Sir John was kind enough to archive the audio of this commercial parody on his website.

http://www.johnfowles.org.uk/LIGHTFOOT

That's Dave Thomas as the excited announcer and Rick Moranis doing the great impression of GL. Enjoy!

Crikey! You're absolutely right - the audio clip is gone. I apologize for posting the outdated link.

Sir John - can you help our fellow Corfidians?
