I often wonder why some are so busy and some aren't.

Because my "there" isn't any better than my "here." And just when my "there" has become my "here," another "there" pops up, which again looks better than my "here," so I go "there."

The Rez

. . . no, reverse that

Sorry, Touhy - I hear ya.

But, check out the Rules for Being Human (Small Talk.) It makes sense in the whole context.

I, too have pondered your question seriously, but haven't figured out a "why" yet.

Too many times, I'm too busy doing wheel-spinning stuff instead of resting from work well done.

Some of the most "in demand" folks I've ever met - in whatever field - are also the least "busy."

Maybe, it's that illusive talent to say, "No."

Again, sorry about the frivolity of the stuff above w/o explanation. Hope that helps.

I always appreciate your posts, ponders, and pieces.

Peace,

The Rez

Are you talking about the forums here? Well the Gord one has always been the busiest, especially when soemthing new about him comes up.

This one's not as full,I guess, because you actually have to come up with a totally seprate idea.

Testforum speaks for its elf.

Okay,okay! Ya don't have ta yell! ( :D )

I've seen other forums around the net and they are quite lame and very limited in topic.

Others have a better idea of the art of conversation online and make it fun and interesting...like here!

No challenge intended, just a request for understanding & clarification, Touhy.

What does your question pertain to?

I don't quite understand, I guess

Adios,

The Rez

Affair on TA : The Rez's reply seemed to make remarkable sense of your (non) thread. If I am not mistaken The Rez is simply saying that people see things differently... Too hard?

I have a similar but slightly more targeted question . Why do people post unintelligible threads ? Why do people use the anonymity of the 'Net (sometimes taking on multiple personalities) to hide their inadequacies ?

Please beware of the water that DMD3 and Harmony (among other "personalities") drink . It is very bad for you and leads to bad vibes , karma and stuff. Sometimes people might reply in an uncharitable manner ...

Your thread (dripping in irony) would in itself appear to suggest there are those who have way too much time on their hands...

Sorry I shouldn't take your valuable time up - you may have to rush off to an important society meeting...

as far as I'm concerned my post makes perfect sense. I belong to many group, including many yahoo groups where some are busier than other and I just wonder why some groups are more busy than others. can't believe no one was able to figure that out.

i'd think some receive more replies than others due to the effort that others put into starting threads that we actually care about.

Summer is a time for relaxation, holidays and fun. I hope Gordon is taking time for himself and his family. I've noticed that this website gets really busy when he is traveling and doing shows. And yes, I admit it, I miss all the exciting conversation, but summer will be over all to soon! :D

Extremely well said by our charming moderator person.
but this topic does now give me the chance again to comment on a picture that Steve displayed
I note from it's properties that it is now at:-
http://img287.imageshack.us/img287/3...upid6mc.th.gif
but presumably Steve found it somewhere and having saved it he then reuploaded it to image shack
It ought to be obvious (without even doing a flippin' headstand that he could have saved hisself the effort by linking
directly to it where he found it
To illustrate this point again I tried to find the original but a google image search for "stupid" yields 110,000 results
so I could not check them all I am not that stoopid!!)
I did peruse a few but really one on the first page at:-
http://anekdota.dyndns.org/jotd25/at.../01-stupid.jpg
was brilliant so please click that link (or copy and paste it)
(I would of displayed it here but it was an oversized 858x822 pixels so too large to show here..
thinks I must finish that tutorial on picture resizing using Photo gadget)

Why is the McDonalds in Uppsala Centrum always packed, and the Burger King, which is right across the street, almost always empty? :D

um, some have more members than others, therefore making them more active?

Wow, they're charging you $3 a month? My bill is only 10 cents a week. They must not like you or something

I don't honestly know why some forums have more involvement than others. I know one of the strongest factors seems to be personal interest and involvement in the purpose of the forum.

I visit several local websites for mountain residents. One is always active and the others are sporadic. The one that is always active was created during the 2003 fires to help people communicate with each other and share information. We all forged common bonds on that site during the first six months. Many of us have made friends with people we otherwise wouldn't have known. There are hundreds of us that check that site daily. The other sites don't have that history, and they aren't active, and they have a dozen or so participants. People go to the best and most active source for information about something they're passionately interested in. It kind of feeds on itself. You're more likely to join into a conversation with hundreds of people, than a conversation between two people.

I just rechecked and that "stupid" picture is not as large as I hitherto thought in the light of my recent experiments on maximum picature sizes to display so it will at 858 pixels wide display very nicely like this:-
