Default GOrd changes tempo on songs from time to time

Any preferences on tempo.

Rain Day People

original is slower than live performance...

(My first attempt was at original speed ..I have since raised it 5 beats a minute... I think I might go half way back)

There are others I am sure...just noticed I'll Do Anything done live at Much Music in 1999 is faster than album again.

I think Alberta Bound is usually done faster than album as well.

..any thoughts??

probably go with the more recent bpm setting that gord and barry have decided on for live performances, as i imagine it was anally analyzed at length

i find bands that play their stuff too fast...must be an over-adrenalin thing

when solo, i think i play more sombre and slower than any recorded cuts
...it takes me quite some time to find the notes. lol

And be sure not to sing it too slow" (THYLI)

btw, an exception...do not go with the tempo of the 7 Island Suite '74 live recording=crazy fast...yeah, booze + good tempo don't mix...GL got it right in studio

you are probably correct on the GL analyzing the thing to death. I would rather err on the side of a bit too fast as my gospel. I love the quote from GL song....I use it as my mantra on the subject...

I hear so many artists doing cover songs slower and I find them just wrong.

I'll take the note of 7 Island ...

I think Early Morning Rain is faster on the first recording than GGold ...When I play it I find that I start to over step the drum...so I think EMR is going to done faster for me going forward. EMR on that first album has a great tempo to it ..IMHO.

Do you notice the difference on EMR's studio recordings and GL's live performances? His live one is slower too. ..most of the time I think.

IMT (in mine too)...i finally got around to comparing

imo, your virtual band's bassist will make or break that one, at either tempo
