Taking issue with James Crispell's review of Endless Wire posted on this site - Endless Wire is a great album. Period.

Well,WPaladin, how much one likes or dislikes an album of any artist is simply a question aof personal taste.

It's not just simply a matter of opinion because everyone's inner personality is different,so different people will feel opposite of how others do. In other words,"different strokes for different folks!" :D

Don't take Mr. Crispell's review so seriously,it's just what the man does for a living and is only "his" opinion.

Well,"Endless Wire",in my opinion, was severly over-produced.And the pic. on the cover, clearly Gord did not want to be there.I hate gossip, but I think at that time in his life (77-78)he was going thru a bad divorce and dealing with, what would turn out to be,the biggest palamomy suit in Canadian history.
Their are great songs on the album, with bittersweet lyrics.Hangdog Hotel Room,Sweet Guenevere...almost the whole album.I think the song"If Children Had Wings"sums up his emotions at that time.
