Isn't it cool to see how simple the setup was with no electric guitar, drums or keyboards?

The setup today is so much different, with wires going in every different direction. Barry has what looks to be eight mics on his drum kit, Mike has two or three keyboards and a midi setup in a rack, with two monitors, Carter has two amps and two foot pedal setups, plus a condenser mic for the guitar, Gord has a Fender amp for the acoustic 6 string and a mic for the 12.

It seems like Rick is the only one with a simple setup, just a bass and amp and mic for the amp.

Of course, through all of that, the music is what has mattered most.

Ah, I remember that look. Saw Gord in 1974 at Monroe Community College (May 3) in the auditorium. No keyboards then. He was not happy as I recall because at one point shortly after launching into a song, a string broke on his guitar and he had to stop, re-string and tune it while keeping the audience from getting too restless. Wish I had a setlist but the only song I can swear to is The Auctioneer because I had never heard it and had to look it up (no Internet of course.) Can't answer for Gord but I had a good time.

somewhere in the 70's i attended a concert in the Los Angeles area. I don't remember where, but i do remember Gordon was not at all happy to be there. it was a smallish venue, compared to where I had seen him before. He did not interact with the audience at all; he just sang his songs as if they were playing on a record. His singing was divine, so I didn't mind, but my mom was not pleased that he never spoke. I don't know if I am remembering correctly, as my brain is remembering things as it sees fit these days, but it seems to me that Gordon had no backup muscians with him. I don't remember seeing anyone else on the stage. Does this seem like a valid memory to anyone? Would he have performed alone in the mid 70's, or did I only have eyes for him so no one else was stored in my memory bank?
