from today's public service at the Opry-Vince Gill and Patty Loveless - Vince wrote this song when his brother died several years ago. Vince has a hard time to keep it together..he was very close to George Jones.
cmt in the u.s. has the full service...

I can say this about George Jones,he was the true defenition of what Country Msuic meant and should mean.

He's one of the few country acts of his day that never crossed over to the POP chart. He and Loretta Lynn both share that in common.

His "White Lightning" only made it to #73 in 1958. ..but that's okay,
he was meant for country music and it's fans...as well as the country chart.

RIP George.
