Hey, no fair! We need another holiday in the states, too. If you get to have a Gordon Lightfoot day, then we should also get one. Let's see. There are not enough holidays in the month of August. Let's stick Gordon Lightfoot Day USA in there.
And it had better be a paid holiday.

"August 6th!" I insist! The end of the month is too long to wait! Besides,that my GL concert Anniversary!

Oh no... That won't work! That's not how we do things here in the states. We have to make it a floating date, to fall on the first Monday of the month. We need the added advantage of having a long weekend.
