Would you believe it? We decided to do things differant this year & have beef enchiladas instead of turkey. Well, believe it or not, I actually MISSED cooking the turkey this year. I guess it just doesn't seem to be Thanksgiving without it. Besides, the enchiladas didn't go over too well anyway.

Put it down as experience. You're entitled to one bad idea every 7 Thanksgivings so you're well under your quota. Surprise everyone and cook a turkey next week and all will be forgotten. Well maybe not forgotten but forgiven. Don't sweat the small stuff.

Oh, believe me, I've more than learned my lesson about that. i fully intend to make a nice turkey this year at Christmas, along with ham, but I'm thinking that I'll do just the pre-sliced ham instead of a whole ham, as we only have one oven & it wouldn't be big enough for me to do both at one time. Also, we plan on doing the usual amount of pies at Christmas---4 or 5-just to make the pie fanatics happy. But then, my mum makes one really MEAN pecan pie that is to die for!
