Default Lightfoot and touring other countries

Greetings, Lightheads, and Lightfoot experts.

I've been listening to Lightfoot in Germany on an internet radio channel, and I've been wondering how many other places has he performed in outside of North America?

Was he able to speak the languages?

If not, were they able to understand him?

What was his favorite place to perform in besides Canada and US?

How did most of these outside countries find his performances?

http://www.lightfoot.ca/tour.htm
tour dates and summaries at the link.
when clicking on a year and then opening the new window some dates have an "R" beside them-these are reviews of that particular concert. An "S" shows the setlist for that show.
He has said one of his fave places to perform was at Royal Albert Hall in London England.
I don't imagine he spoke very much when performing in countries that speak language other than English. He certainly sang his songs in english tho.

check out Lightfoot in Germany:

Music Fan,

Gord toured Australia only once, in 1974. The first concert was in Melbourne, but the journey via Sydney took 34 hours. The itinerary was gruelling: Sep18 Melbourne (Festival Hall), Sep19 Sydney Opera House, Sep21 Hobart, Sep22 Adelaide, Sep23&24 Perth and Sep26 Brisbane. I was too young to attend the Melbourne concert. Corfid contributor Catmanron attended it and said Gord certainly was jetlagged, but the performance was great and he wore the jacket from the cover of the Don Quixote album. I wonder if the Perth sailing trip mentioned in "Ecstasy Made Easy" referred to Australia's Perth and had some connection with that tour. At the 1986 Juno awards, Gord told the audience he was booked to tour Australia in 1987, but for reasons unknown to me, the tour didn't eventuate. I finally saw Gord in concert (and was lucky enough to meet him) when I travelled to Wisconsin for that purpose in Mar2008.
