Re: Canada Post Yearbook of 2007 Stamps
char, looks slick...good stuff, thx for sharing + pics, see if your camera has macro mode
hey, i've been getting all those catalogues from CP for years but they never sent me anything like this (or the big posters you snagged, lol ) ...if not already on it, you might like receiving the National Film Board mailings too, speaking of Canadiana galore...enjoy

Re: Canada Post Yearbook of 2007 Stamps
Those are very beautiful pics. Does someone have to pay for that book. They send me a magazine every 4 weeks. Maybe I will receive this as well ? What do you think Char...

Re: Canada Post Yearbook of 2007 Stamps
i wouldn't count on it, jj
char may have bribed the mailman...she was so anxious that he only had to ring once, heh
cool stuff, char....yes, looks like you have that feature...and a zillion others
so in the future use your macro mode for .39" to 1.6' closeups and you can mimic scanning
i just grabbed a Fuji S700 using points...not bad, it has 10x optical zoom, great for candids
the HP850 served it's purpose but the flash really ate batteries and lithiums still too pricey
enjoy

And while "Part 1" of the TV interview is still on line,
http://www.cbc.ca/arts/music/story/2...anadapost.html
"Part 2" has never appeared. Tried alternate URLs to no avail. Did anyone see it. Was it ever put online?

Re: Ordering Lightfoot stamp
It took me five months, but I finally got the stamps framed. The Gord postcard is on top with the stamps and background circles underneath. It looks really cool. Maybe I'll take a picture of it and scan it on for all to see. Now which wall to put it on???

Mine aren't framed yet..the poster needs a signature..so much to do..
I want the signed Toronto Sun article framed as well..
take some pics so we can see!
Is it a 'memory box' sort of frame? I'd like to do one of those as well with a few special pieces I have..

Hello formerlylavender,
Glad to hear you got your treasures framed. I think I can help you out on which wall to put it on. I have a few empty spots on my walls. I would be happy to let you use one of mine.

Re: Ordering Lightfoot stamp
With a little (a lot) of help from my husband, I am able to post my newly framed lightfoot stamp and postcard. You can't really tell from this picture, but the background is brown velvet which looks nice with the colors. When I asked the lady at the frame store for suggestions for the frame, she said she liked this one because it reminded her of Gord's wavy hair. Needless to say, I was sold!

Lovely job! Now you have to take a pic of it on the wall!
I have to get mine to the framer now that I see how nice they look all done! ..
I also want to incorporate the first day cover envelope front and back.. as well as the stamps in the 8 pack that have the small sticky circles with each face that you put on the back of the envelope..plus the poster..and the front and back of the postcard..
yikes - that's gonna be a BIG framed piece!
maybe I'll make it two frames..with the CanPost poster in between in a separate frame..oh dear..so many decisions!

Re: Ordering Lightfoot stamp
Thanks, guys. I'm really excited about it. I've narrowed it down to two walls - I want to find just the right spot. Char, it looks like you have your work cut out for you!

Lisa is a bad kid..lol
This is not where it will hang-it's just a temporary spot until other memorabilia is framed.

Re: Canada Post poster finally in frame!
Charlene,
Looks great, now some of us get see our famous moderator.
Thanks for all you help in making contact and getting the pictures from the Davenport
Concert posted. I didn't know how to explain it to the person who took the wonderful pictures.
By the way, I got the venue poster, my poem, the tickets, and some pictures in a frame and ready to put on the way. I think it looks pretty good also.
Kevin
