OK, it's late, almost midnight, and I'm listening to more songs on Songbook. Just finished listening to The Last Time I Saw Her -- LOOOOVE it. Wow. What a writer, what a voice, what a man. <sigh....> I'm about to fall asleep now.... so, I'll write more tomorrow.

OK, on Disc 2 now of Songbook. Love Endless Wire (always did), and I'm Not Supposed to Care. Almost makes me cry...
[ok, I'm talking to myself, grumble, grumble...]

OK - we're all entitled to our own opinion. Answer me this: do you like EMR? 'Cause I don't like that one! I know, that probably makes me a pariah...

Yes, I like EMR, and the first time I heard Gord's Gold, I thought Gord did a very good job with Peter, Paul and Mary's song.
I think the lyrics are great. They perfectly describe a guy who is away from home and down and out on his luck. The imagery is great.

Interestingly Sheryl now that you have visited our chat room and "met" Susan and I you might like to read her account of how soon after we met and when we were all playing the recently-released (May 1999) Songbook disc by disc in sync she suddenly got extremely lightheaded and when "Same Old Loverman came around (Disk 2 track 11) she brazenly asked me to dance . So we pretended to do so in a virtual manner and the rest as they say is history:-
it's here on the Newsgroup:- http://ourdance.notlong.com
John Fowles
P.S.
Apologies to those who have read that before

I knew Susan had bitten the biscuit, so to speak, when she kept replacing the word bit with brit. Of course, Susan would have said she had Britain the biscuit.
This happened just before I joined the newsgroup.
