Gord plays CRT in dropped D tuning, meaning he tunes the 6th string (the thick one) down to a D instead of an E, or an octave lower than the 4th string, which is also a D. Then he puts his capo on the 3rd fret.
Dropped D tuning gives it a nice low bass drone. He uses dropped D in several of his strumming songs. Early Morning Rain is another dropped D song. I think I have a file with chord diagrams, lyrics and chords for EMR. If you want it, e-mail me at
