Me too. I can't watch the stuff on TV because I have to leave the room. All day I was kinda keeping busy, playing his music etc. and then once it got dark outside, the reality of it started to set in.
I remember how I felt when we were unsure if Lightfoot was going to make it. It felt like somebody shot me in the stomach. This is kinda the same feeling.

A comment on msn.com today summed up Mr. Cash's impact very well: "he is irreplaceable."

A very sad day, indeed. I thought of you when I heard the news on the radio while driving to work this morning, Watchman. I remembered reading how much you admired Johnny. I've always loved his music and his passion and philosophy on life. I'm a huge fan of his daughter, Rosanne Cash and ex-son-in-law, Rodney Crowell - I know they are all still reeling from the recent loss of June. My thoughts are with the family and the rest of us who feel the pain.

My prayers are with his family. He was a good man and if I ever had a hero, he would have been it. At least that's what my family always told me.

My granddad, DMD1, really like to listen to Johnny. I haven't seen him since Mr. Cash died. I wonder what he thinks about it.

The whole summer has been mind-numbing. In fact mine's kind of like that right now. (No joke.) There's 1 other who passed in the early A.M. of the 11th. Larry Hovis, who played Carter on Hogan's Heroes also passed on at 67 of cancer. He didn't get as big a write up or TV time. In fact, the only TV mention I saw were the words that go across the bottom of the screen on CNN. Of course, the was Charles Bronson too. For my full feelings on all this,go to Small Talk and check my newest thread. I've talked enough about this now. Let us all have a good a day as we can. Bye,now.

That's a beautiful picture of Johnny and June, Al.
I spent most of Friday night watching tributes to Johnny. I really enjoyed the story on CMT, I actually never knew that much about Johnny Cash, the person. From what I saw on CMT, he seemed like a good man and I know he will be greatly missed.

For those of you who might not be aware, Johnny and his daughter Rosanne did a duet of a beautiful song she and her husband wrote for her CD that came out last March. The song is called September When It Comes. It's a beautiful song, actually inspired by the 9/11/01 events, but took on an entirely new meaning when Johnny passed away in September. On the CMT tribute to Johnny Cash, Rosanne did this song with Johnny's part dubbed in and with family photos in the background. It was very touching and the family has now made those photos the "video" for that song. The whole CD, Rules Of Travel, is wonderful and I'd highly recommend it. If you would like to hear this particular song and see the video, go to this link:
