Did you mention my name?(just in passing)

If he mentions this on the news(I don't think he would) I'll faint. Imagine my (user)name being on national TV all because I joined this discussion forum.
Speaking of Gords Birthday, it's getting closer.

Well, one less column for Gord's birthday
to be mentioned in. The Chicago Sun-times'
Irv Kupcinet died this week.

If he's on TV at all I'll faint! Especially if any of the Entertainment Magazine Shows mention his birthday! To me,that would be out of left field. Later!

Sitting here in the UK at 1830, listening to the BBC. Gordon has been played twice today, WOW.
Desmond Carrington played 'Sundown' earlier this afternoon. Thank you Des.
A few moments ago Ed Stewart has mentioned Gord's birthday, and played Gordon's version of 'Early Morning Rain', plus Connie Kaldor singing 'If You Could Read My Mind' from the new Tribute album. Well done Ed and thanks.
On a personal level, I hit the big 58 yesterday.

I copied your UBB code which was as far as I recall exactly what I tried to use and now the animated gif works. I don't think UBB likes me very much I often have a problem making these damn links work. So heres's trying again
bingo!!! And it gives me an excuse to wish the Man a most Happy Birthday on the actual Day

Each morning our local radio station in Winchester VA sends out birthday greetings to celebrities, local celebrities and local people who are celebrating their birthdays that day. This morning I got jolted awake because the announcer sent out well-wishes to Danny DeVito, Lauren Hutton and "Gordon Lightfoot, who turns 65 today"! It sure took me by surprise.

Desmond Carrington played 'Sundown' earlier this afternoon. Thank you Des. I recall a few years ago on Remembrance Day being nicely surprised by Des playing Protocol!!

Good for Stewpot.
Now Rick just get on by e-mail or whatever to Whispering Bob Harris whose neglect of Gord is truly shameful. for a DJ who prides himself on his usual ecletic playlists.
In fact checking his site's playlist section reveals that he has played Gord 4 times (all Sundown)on 18 may 2002,13 may 2002,19 june 1999and 20 june 1998. Boring!!!
Also Rick as you are in the UK you should make yourself known to the UK Fan club branch supremo (BrunaZanelli@aol.com)(Croydon-based )who posts here frequently as "Silverheels" as no doubt should there be a chance for us all to meet up again at Massey Hall (May 2005 fingers crossed) she would be organising the British/Irish invasion no doubt
Cheers

As I mentioned on the Happy Gord day thread,my local oldies station played 3 of his hits at 3am,basically at my request because the D.J. was a fan too. If I had that station,I'd play the whole 60's & 70's catalouge. Well, better 3 than none I say. Happy Birthday GL and I hope he liked our card.

Thanks to you good people, Char, John & Gwen, for the birthday wishes.
John I have bombarded the BBC with emails to everyone from Terry Wogan to Johnny Walker (Bob Harris included) with little luck. I will plug away.
