Is there a song, you think could have been a big hit,if it had been released as a single?

Frankv:
"Anything For Love" was a hit song from EAST OF MIDNIGHT if I ever heard one, yet even though the record company realized this too & released it on 45rpm it didn't get the airplay it deserved and failed to make Top 40 in USA...go figure.

How about "Somewhere USA" or "The Watchmans gone". Good commercial, accessible songs that would appeal to a wide range of tastes.

Frank v,
You beat me to it . . . I was going to say The Watchman's Gone.
Or how 'bout one of my all time favorites, High and Dry.

Another vote for The Watchman's Gone. Sundown was full of really marketable tunes. I go with Second Cup of Coffee, too. The House You Live In. I'm Not Supposed to Care.

Now Anything for Love was a moderate country charter here in US but tha's about it. To be perfectly honest East of Midnight doesn't rank up there for me in terms of production - for the most part the songs are as good as ever but I just doesn't sound like Gord's "sound" to me. Your results may vary....

Another two songs.
Not his best but could have wide appeal.

Slide on over and Fine as Fine can be.

I believe "If You Need Me" was released as a single but wasn't given much push from the record company. It's one that should have been given better exposure. Ditto for "Daylight Katy", "Dreamstreet Rose", "Circle Is Small". All deserved a better push.

How about "Fine As Fine Can Be"?

Forgive me lord...A surprise hit?

(Despite the fact, that before last year,it wasn't even considered good enough for general release).
