(Game)You Know You've Been Listening to Too much Gord when...
You know you've been listening to to much Gord when.........
Someone asks you how your life's going and you alway say,"My life is an "Endless Wire". LOL!
You're always afraid at "Sundown" 'cause you think
someone's creepin' round your backstairs!
You confuse your infant while teaching it to walk by saying,"Baby Step Back"
(Okay, what can you guys come up with?)

Re: (Game)You Know You've Been Listening to Too much Gord when...
- When you tip your gin bottle back till it's gone
- When you're bent, but not broken
- When you're down on your luck, as a matter of fact, you've even been chased
- when you take time to make town, to stock a pint or two
- When you'd storm the gates of hell itself, for a taste of a mermaid's tail
- and when you ask someone to "say hello from someone" but with no need to explain
I could go on and on, but I'll leave some for everyone else. Looking forward to Aurora, IL on Sept 16th.
Take care, everyone.

You know you've been listening to too much Gord when you ask for the Seven Island Suite & the desk clerk looks at you like you're nuts.

Tim,Jesse,RM,Sue & Timetraveler those are hilarious! Luv'em!!
You open up your refrigerator and write on the temp. control "Ten Degrees and Getting Colder"
You always sing,"Gotta Get Away" during chase scenes on TV shows & movies! :D
Every year on your wedding anniversary, you and your better half always use "Love and Maple Syrup".... literally!!

... When your car breaks down in the winter at the side of the road, and you tell the AAA man to please hurry, because it's "Cold on the Shoulder".
Or when someone asks how you are, you reply "Fine as Fine Can Be".

Re: (Game)You Know You've Been Listening to Too much Gord when...
when somebody says "How are you" or "ca va" and you reply
"The Way I feel is like a robin whose babes have flown"
or that you like to look
"Always on the bright side
Keeps it kind of light
That girl gets friendlier each day"
Or when every night you dream
"Of an old schooner flying down a sky that's overcast"
and you get
"the restless yearning of those geese as off they roam
Then trade that for a warm bed and a place I can call home"
As Tim said I could go on and on
excellent game Tim
very well thought up
you're rivalling Stationmaster Lorne already!
And as a further answer to Brenna1
It's a fairly safe bet that Wayne Francis will post the dates as soon as they are known on a new page on his site that is not yet even in existance:-
http://www.lightfoot.ca/2008.htm
I would anticipate that the first entries (as rumoured) will be a Massey Hall "season" sometime in May 2008
In addition it is quite possible that by the time dates are available Meredith will have progressed with her fledgeling site:-
http://www.gordon-lightfoot.net entitled
{Gordon-Lightfoot [DOT] Net} ; Your #1 Official Source For All Things Lightfoot!
and where her claim is that:-
"Gordon-Lightfoot.net is the most updated and visited site for Gordon Lightfoot in the world! With tons of news, updates,
pictures and more!"
So far I see no link to a concerts/tour page but no doubt that will follow so bookmark her site along with Wayne's page

I think Mer's a little busy doing teenage stuff to spend a lot of time on her website but will add to it little by little.

Re: (Game)You Know You've Been Listening to Too much Gord when...
Thanks brink. I think John was saying I'm rivaling Stationmaster for clever game concepts.
To continue: You go to a demolition derby and take over tha annoucer's booth to sing,"Race Among The Ruins". :D
You drift into a chourus of "The House You Live In" while reading The Three Little Pigs to your kid!
You assume everyone who cheats on their lover has an "Affair on Eigth Avenue"
and also,at the end of saying your prayers, instead of "Amen" you say,"Forgive Me Lord" for I have sinned.

you're teaching your child how to tie their shoes, and utter "put it together, don't let it slip".

For so many years Gord has always been able to pinpoint what is going on inside my head. He recently scored a direct hit when he announced that there was just "clouds of empty space."

Re: (Game)You Know You've Been Listening to Too much Gord when...
When you awoke this morning, something inside of you told you this would be your day....
But, your pony won't go.
You keep thinking you heard someone stir... you're afraid there's a man behind you with a gun.
You wonder if there's such a thing as a Jewish Island.

Well B this is a great game and it is nice to see someone having fun in the forum. I hope you get to the 1000 post! I have been really busy lately, not much time to spend on-line.
"You know you've been listening to to much Gord when...."
...you can never listen to too much Gord!

Re: (Game)You Know You've Been Listening to Too much Gord when...
You're asked if you enjoy going to the movies and you reply,"If you ask me I'll Tag Along".
You actually get the "Steel Rail Blues" on long train trips.
You let a faucet run trying to see if there's a "Bend In The Water".
and when you win money you "Coo" and go "Chi-ching!!" LOL!

Re: (Game)You Know You've Been Listening to Too much Gord when...
When pretty girls are your "Inspiration Ladies"
When you see a cop pass by, you say 'It feels so good knowin' "The Watchman's Gone"
If you climb a latter and your hot and thirsty, you consider yourself "High And Dry"
When you watch a sale on TV, you instantly listen for "The Auctioneer" (I've really done this)
When you feel like having pancakes, you say to yourself 'I feel like having some "Love And Maple Syrup"

Re: (Game)You Know You've Been Listening to Too much Gord when...
"BETTY CALLED ME IN" to tell me that she "GOTTA GET AWAY" cause she is "RESTLESS" and tired of looking at the four "WALLS". I replied, "BABY IT'S ALRIGHT" cause "IF YOU COULD READ MY MIND", you would see that we were "NEVER TOO CLOSE". She glared back at me with those "BITTER GREEN" eyes and said, "that's it, I'm "MOVIN'!" Make "NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT", "SOMETIMES I WISH" that I could make "CHANGES" to my "UNSETTLED WAYS", but listening to Gord is "ALL I'M AFTER". "MUCH TO MY SURPRISE", she came back at "SUNDOWN" with an "APOLOGY". I said "BABY IT'S ALRIGHT" but "YOU JUST GOTTA BE" more understanding about the "WAY I FEEL". Gord is the "BOSS MAN" and I will listen to him for the "END OF ALL TIME"
