Re: US anthem - sweet steel version by PeeWee
I never saw Pee Wee in person because every time I saw Lightfoot in concert it was Mike Heffernan, so that's news to me as well.
Does anyone know if John Stockfish is still living ? I know Terry Whelan is no longer with us... I supposed I could have Googled him !

Re: US anthem - sweet steel version by PeeWee
Stockfish went in to publishing way back, may still be living in Nashville, according to Lightfoot.ca ...I hope he's well, same said for other Lightfoot alumni (David Rea, etc) ...Wayne might want to expand his Band section to include: where are they now ...so what did you think of that 911 tribute? I'm not a big fan of the Canada or US anthem compositions other than the patriotic lyrics but this arrangement with the added bridge or reprise or whatever really appealed to me ...btw, some other of my steel players are Al Brisco and Kim Deschamps ...now I'd love to hear The Maple Leaf Forever, God Save the Queen, America the Beautiful, God Bless America on steel also ...and while we're at it, how about the HNIC them song on steel ...hey, I'm writing the new one for CBC, lol

Ed (Peewee) sold copies of this tribute right after the attacks as a fund raiser. I bought a cd of it then, and have played it almost every anniversary. I find it very, very moving.
