Default Holiday Specials

havent seen any real awesome ones out there this year

carrie underwood seems to have squeaky clean image, sings and looks nice

donned my gay apparel for steve and chris special, it was really a cbc horn blow

think rita macneil, john mcD, rankin sisters are repeats from years gone by

appreciate any heads up of anything musical and new that is upcoming

i watched a Bravo airing of Johnny Cash Christmas specials from 70s 80s

great stuff...Anne Murray, Kris (clip below), Andy Kaufman in his prime joining Johnny and young footage of Carlene and Roseanne... cheesy and priceless

...I will look forward to Strombo and a fresh menu of musical performances

happy holidays and safe travels, all

tidbit: best friend in highschool for 2 years lived next door to Anne Murray...i was over there alot (at his house not hers, lol)...anyhow, didnt think much of it at the time but we peered away now and then and i dont have any real dirty laundry to pass along....Canucks make lousy papparazzi

i forgot to ask the membership what is a fave animation story and movie

i would have made a Poll but the feature limits the listings to 10, so many

i suppose it is hard to top the Grinch cartoon and A Christmas Carol (1951 version)

Charlie Brown, the old Drummer boy classic...hard to pick or rank these

btw, i am glad we now have such a clean restored version of this classic:

right on, there may be some great youtube oldies out there but they are missing the commercials, funny how i can't stand them in the present but long for some of the ones once they are in the distant past

there's something homey about firing in a vhs tape...i have some that are decades old that play perfectly and others that are less than a decade old that have audio and tracking probs, typical

speaking of technology letdown, i pvr-ed charlie brown the other night and when went to play it for jr, there was no audio...it was off YTV, it's not the first time...sometimes Treehouse does that...anyhow we watched it anyhow and tried to guess what was going on, it was pretty fun actually

jr was scared by mickey's scrooge xmaz and never wants to see it again...i'll have to check out the Muppets

Canyon was playing in the background at a festival we were at but time (and other's interest) didnt allow us to checkit out...i think i remember hearing some steel so i suppose that was ed...thanks for the tip, i'll check the CMT repeat line up...i am a big Bravo viewer, especially Tuesdays which is music night all year long...

btw, watched Rudolph#2 and Frosty Returns, did not enjoy

right on, lol...there were a few laffs in Shrek the Halls (not new)

Bravo showed more Cash Xmas specials last night and another tonight...was nice to see Merle Travis pick away

caught a bit of Cannon and Brandt, fine stuff but more appeal to ladies probably, i don't listen to many male voices the same way you dont listen to many women, lol

speaking of women, that Faith Hill's continuing appeal stuns me...imo, very little charisma and stage presence..a so so voice but the networks put money behind her with big productions...i thought her prime was 1 years ago

the Carrie special wasn't Christmassy at all, I guess it was a Thanksgiving Special...congrats to her and Fischer

i only saw a bit of the Strombo special...I'll have to replay the BR and Kathleen Edwards part...not sure what else is upcoming and fresh

just watched it all and fore sure, enjoyable, jjo

dunno why George didn't give someone like Norah an Xmas hug...I've only ever seen him hug Buble (well, I'm just sayin....lol)

Cuddy was Cuddy...Edwards has a nice voice even when she's rockin (and cursin)...Keelor's contribution was monumental, lol

loved the Choir from the Hammer...our Sadies are always captivating...also dug the lead voice from that Sweet Thing band

nice to see Steven King join in...he looks to be from Whoville
