I did a search to confirm that it hadn't been mentioned before, and I hope I'm right.

Below is a link to the "Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour" This should take you to the archives, and based on recent postings, some may be interested in shows :

410- Janis Ian
301- John Kay (of Steppenwolf fame)and John
Stewart
310- Roger McGuinn

Tons of other artists I have never heard of, but I consider it well done. If your computer allows, click on "video" and enjoy.

The Woodsongs Concert pairing of The Johns [Kay & Stewart] is a great match. It doesn't really surprise me that the Two Johns share much in common influences.

Kay, most known for Bodacious rock, shines in this simple forum. Stewart, most known for his folk work, has a Rock n Roll Bone dug deep by a Salty Dog.

The two don't pair up often, but many more times than just this show. Having been present for a couple of duo shows, I easily say, "Very, Very, Cool!" It's always Big Fun when two Pioneers engage in that loving Top This Stuff.

Especially Cool when they pull it off as the pros they are . . . pros w/ undimjinished chops!

Take a gander at the "unknown to you" guys. Very rarely will you shut down your laptop for the night w/o a few Select Wonder-Words about those "unknowns."

For me, it's a favorite discovery site. Also, buddies like Dave Alvin, Peter Case, Johnny Doe, and the whole Knitters conglomerate have done the series.

Just ain't no way to lose . . .

Rez,

I'm glad you responded to this thread....I was beginning to wonder if the treasures that lie within would go undiscovered. I was unaware that the Kay/Stewart pairing was not uncommon.

All in all, I find it to be music at it's barest, and therefore at it's best.

What a great site! In looking over the archives, I counted no less than 48 performers that have also graced our stage (well, 2 of the 48 are booked in January, but still...) and several others who I am familiar with name-wise.

This is a great find, thanks RMD!!

(BTW, this thread might not have gotten much response yet, because a lot of our corfid regulars are in Toronto this week - there's something going on there, just can't think of what it might be )

Ron, couldn't agree more about Woodsongs treasures - I spend most time online there

am surprised your corfid search didn't find many of my posts where I sneak in a strong recommendation for acoustic lovers to check it out as far back as Jan 2005 although I can't recall how many years I've been enjoying it with so many others - there could be a whole other thread for discussing the performances found there - still think youtube related posts need separate section of we could be speending eternity making referrals

also previously noted, same audience may enjoy the film, A Prairie Home Companion
cheers

I'm not sure what search terms I used at the time, but it came back empty. I hope these performances never apply to Kristofferson's verse :

cause the truth remains that no one wants to know"
