I have to warn you that Peter reported last week that he got taken to a dubious site and had a mysterious pop-up warning warning about downloading files

I can assure you that the file in question is a perfectly sanitary small Java applet that is actually stored on my own website and I guarantee virus etc free.
neither of these phenomena have ever happenned to me but may be something to do with his operating system .
He was I think using the simple "Java applet" method of getting into the chatroom

one that I cannot use as my windows XP SP2 equipped machine is unable to load Java applets
and I use MIRC
