I heard a speaker recently say that the latest thinking on exercise as we age is to "accumulate" at least 30 minutes a day, for most days. It doesn't have to be all at once. well I have discovered a great way to get about 6 minutes at a time: When I'm geting dressed and undressed, I put on the last 2 songs of Songbook, Disc 3, Keepn' on Yearning, and Canary Yellow Canoe and dance like crazy! You can't NOT dance when you play them. Gets that heart beating, body moving, and you can't not be happy. A new use for Gordon Lightfoot music: exercise tape!

i think that's GREAT

i love that Gord has been a workout guy for the past pile of years, lots of jogging but gotta watch the impact on those knees...maybe he should switch (during recover mode) to something like that step exercise routine stuff...maybe he could even do a Baby Step Back instructional video on the side?

dun worry, i'll resist doing a VHS cover pic

but i'd get a kick out of a GL infomercial

Tae Bo Jimmy, lol

ps)"You can't NOT dance when you play them"

...oh, ya wanna friggin' bet????? LOL

jj,
If you really get into running later in life, like Gord and me, your knees can hold up forever. It's oftentimes people who have been running since their teens who have problems as they get "older". But that's anecdotal evidence at best. And if you're already old, like me, forever doesn't have to be too long, LOL.

Bill
I often sing GL tunes as I run, when I run alone that is...
