My Favorite Song

My 2nd favorite song is "Christian Island". It makes me feel like I am on, and sure makes me wish I was on that boat.
My very favorite song - not just favorite GL song - is "The Pony Man". Since I first heard it when the album "Sit Down Young Stranger" first came out, I always feel about five years old when I hear it, and I'm exactly the same age as Gordon. It is pure magic for me every single time I hear it, and I must have done so a thousand times by now. The only other person I can think of who has produced such magic is Walt Disney. Once I sung it at a singing circle, and introduced it by saying "this is a trip I want to go on". I meant it. I'm still hoping he'll show up at my window some night. Merlin

All four of my kids love "The Pony Man". My wife and I have sung each of them to sleep with it more than once. Once when I was typing a post to this site, my second oldest asked me who we were talking about, and she didn't recognize Gordon Lightfoot's name, so I told her he wrote The Pony Man. Now, when she the blue background and the yellow lettering she knows I'm on what she calls "The Pony Man Guy's Site!"
