Well, I wasn’t able to go to the show in NYC last night, but I did catch some great Lightfoot music. We went up to Worcester to watch Terry Tufts, Aengus Finnan, and Jory Nash perform their show called, “The Way We Feel”. Last year Char came down and joined a few of us when we went to NJ to see them (certain irony that Char had to come down from Canada to see three Canadians perform), but this year we were on our own. There was one other Lighthead in the audience, Neil and his daughter who sat a few rows behind us at the recent Northampton concert.
Last nights concert was held in a coffeehouse inside a huge furniture store. It wasn’t quite as odd as my husband and I thought it might be, it was a whole separate section, sort of a loft area. Anyway, the three men each performed a Lightfoot song alone, then each did one of their own original songs, then back to a Lightfoot song. It’s a great way to be exposed to some talent that you might not ordinarily listen to, and judging by the brisk cd sales we weren’t the only ones who enjoyed their original songs.
We went for the first show and stayed for the second one too. Since I know Char will want to know, they performed the following Lightfoot songs:
Cotton Jenny
Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald (done solo acoustically by Aengus)
Did She Mention my Name
Mother of a Miner’s Child
Miguel
For Lovin’ Me
Summer Side of Life (great 3 part harmony!)
Steel Rail Blues
Race Among the Ruins
I’m Not Saying
Ribbon of Darkness
Early Morning Rain
Alberta Bound
Rich Man’s Spiritual
The Way I Feel
There are still a few places left to catch this show, and I encourage everyone to go. Pollstar has the following places listed:
10/30/05 Stony Brook, NY
11/12/05 North Attleboro, MA
11/13/05 Asbury Park, NJ
11/17/05 Wolfeboro, NH
11/18/05 Londonderry, NH
11/19/05 Oswego, NY
11/20/05 Oxford, NY
For those of you that might be interested in hearing this show, but can’t make it (Char, that would be you!!) it will be broadcast on the internet next Saturday at 6pm on wicn.org

I didn't take any pictures. The first show I was close enough to touch them, but after a while they asked me to stop cause it was annoying them.
I didn't want to blind them with the flash, so I didn't even take the camera out.
