Nicely imaginative ZR.It tells another story though I am not quite sure what.
I do know that on a dial-up and a slow connection this evening,I was kept on tenterhooks waiting for completion of the download.
I was trying to work out why the young man had a letter "T" on his backside which just might have been the first "T" in "Lightfoot"and was the guitar's sound hole going to turn out to be the first "O" in "Gordon"??
Keep 'em coming.
a challenge
any ideas for "
"That Same Old Obsession"??
and
"Endless Wire"
JohnFowles

Only a couple of hundred or so left!!

I can barely see the letters that John is talking about. I would certainly vote for yours above the original. Very symbolic.

ZR,

This definitely captures the spirit of the Kristofferson song. Nice job. I would suggest that the red in the lettering be replaced with a more "earthy" tone.

Ranger, very nice graphics work.

John, as you and the others, I see the additional letters besides the apparently sewn-on T on his jeans.

I wonder if we are seeing the same ones, as I found by accident that varying screen resolution (currently 1600 x 1200), and how oblique the angle I view my screen from are variables that reveal more or less translucent letters.

These letters seem to be text from maybe one of the other image overlay layers, or artifacts/glyphs (unlikely).

The most clear I can see are an "H" to the immediate left of the sewn-on patch "T" on his jeans, and a "P" and "L" just to the left of his right elbow, another "T" right over his left shoulder blade at the top edge of the guitar, and barely discernable, - almost a full "C" superimposed over the hole in the guitar.

These letters are all the same font as the patch "T" on the jeans, just translucent. The "T" on his jeans is the only tangible letter that appears to be from the same image layer as the man-with-guitar photo.

The others seem to me to be in a barely visible logical sequence as portions of words from another layer.

Ranger was this intentional or an artifact ? Interesting. If I am overanalysing random glyphs I apologize, but if not, do you know the source and the words I almost see ? Again, I really like your graphics work. It does justice to Gord's rendition of Me and Bobby McGee. Thanks

Resubmitted for your approval...(refer to first post for redone cover)

I fixed the watermark remainders and changed the title to an earthtone color.

John,
I've been thinking about "Endless Wire" and I'm still thinking about "Endless Wire" Someday It will come to me.

I'll think I'll take another shot at "Tattoo" first.

Ranger - looks cool. Fooled me on the watermark "T" on his jeans originally, thought it was a patch sewn on.

Like the patches we did in the late 60's - early 70's - peace symbols, etc. Very nice work.

This is great, ZR! I like it much better with the earthtone lettering - that was a good suggestion.

Boy, wouldn't I just love for Kristofferson or Lightfoot to see these covers? That would truly make my day!

Hi ZR/Zoneranger,although I do not know how you derived the name "zoneranger" (I seem to recall thinking it had something to
do with your ISP but no idea now why I thought that,
Amazing that I drafted that yesterday just before you revealed all in your new and "disturbing" small talk topic
Anyway I think from now on I will call you Marty.(If we ever meet I must try to remember to take especial care shaking your hand!!
It seems to me that you are seeking inspiration for an "Endless Wire" motif
May I suggest something nautical?
Why because on Wayne's page:-
http://www.lightfoot.ca/goldgoos.htm
There is an excerpt from an excellent 1979 article from Yachting magazine.
regarding the building and ordering of Gord's boat "The Golden Goose"

when I displayed that picture before on topic:-
http://www.corfid.com/ubb/ultimatebb...=002852#000002
after studying that picture a young lady from California was heard/seen to expostulate
"Holy **@#, I mean, holy cow, some guy's tuberosity is showing"
All that aside the article said:-
"The navigation station, just to the port of helm, is so well endowed that Lightfoot titled his last album "Endless Wire," after seeing the task before the electrician."
John Fowles
P.S. Marty
why not include some of your great GL artwork on a site and page that I found linked on your own Grahics website; the "Music Art" page (that I have assumed is yours) at:-
http://www.digitaldoktor.com/music.htm
alongside other gems like this:-

'Endless Wire' ZR ... how about just, that a wire stretching globally around Gord, depicting his fame and his glory? You're the designer - make it pretty. LOL

And another amazing thing Marty I noted from your profile that you are in Harrisville PA

Bells began to ring because last year at the time of the Keswick theatre (Glenside PA) concert I learned of the existance of
a fan in PA (who I did not get to meet)
he was member 1105 (AlinHarrisburg-Alex)
see old 2005 topic:-
http://www.corfid.com/ubb/ultimatebb...c;f=1;t=003375
And I thought how nice if two more Lightheads could meet
Fortunately I noticed in time that whilst you both reside in Pennsylvanian towns presumably founded by a Mr Harris
the actual names differred
I found this about him:-
Just before 1700 John Harris, born in Yorkshire, England, probably about 1673, and a brewer by occupation, landed in
Philadelphia.so I guess that too much ale-quoffing made him forget that he already had founded one town in his name
Even worse when I consulted http://www.mapquest.com
to basically see how far apart you were
I discovered that the said Yorkshireman was even more prolific or under the influence as I had to chose between a pair of Harrisburgs
one is in Dauphin county 234 miles from Harrisville and quite near Philadelphia.
The other is in Philadelphia county and 352 miles from Harrisville and closer to Philly
mapquest also said that they are only 111 miles apart so I guess postal confusion is rife??

the Harrisburg on the Susquehanna River downstream of Dauphin
I also discovered that this city is your state capital not Philadelphia

the "other" Harrisburg
John Fowles
Is that confusing or what?
Surely this is no way to run a railroad??
In fact Marty I now see that you are possibly nearer to Al Watchman ( who I seem to remember is in Ashtabula,Ohio)

Harrisville to Ashtabula (95 miles or so)
or maybe Iron (Brain)

[/QUOTE]OK OK I can understand Bru's problem

dear Charlady but your hair has left blonde behind
JCF
I have just reread it and it makes perfect sense to me. to recap-itulate
1.Marty zoneranger lives in Harrisville PA
2.Alex lives in a Harrisburg.
3,There are two different Harrisburgs in PA which might not confuse you but surely must
cause many other problems not least to the US Post Office and any other delivery services
4.Al lives in Ashtabula
5.John Harris who possibly started this unecessarily confusing state of affairs came to PA from Yorkshire England (home of great puddings and cricketers)
6.Mapquest is a useful site for finding places and the distance between them
7. Ladies do not in my experience** have a natural grasp of maps and directions so I made
screenshots to help you
JCF
**I well recall one day in the sixties when my then wife was going to drive us from Montreal to Ottawa.
Our car was parked on the south side of an east-west road facing east.We got in and she started the engine and started off moving forwards .After a few hundred yards she timorously asked me if we were going the right way.I replied yes if you really think that Ottawa is to the east of Montreal. Was I mean or what??

OK Marty
I take it from that that you are denying that your name is Marty
Some explanation from me is therefore in order as I thought I had compelling and conclusive evidence that that was a fact.I expect many here wil have realised that I enjoy researching things on the internet.
In your case I was inquisitive to see where you were uploading your series of picture sleeves to and found for example that your Bobby Magee one is at:-
http://members.myepath.com/rskmjgrossman/mabm.jpg
from that I diagnosed that your surname was most likely Grossman and that amongst your initials was an "M" and knowing that you had said that you were in graphics professionally I then put
"grossman graphics" into a google search
I was somewhat surprised to get
http://www.grossmangraphics.com/
as the very first result.Indeed if you hit "I'm feeling lucky" that site opens.
I then read on:-
http://www.grossmangraphics.com/history.htm
that this outfit is owned and managed by
Marty Grossman,Peg Grossman,
and found on:-
http://www.grossmangraphics.com/marty.htm
"He is a leader in his Masonic affiliations"
hence my joke about handshaking.
At the time I first looked there was even a photograph of "Marty"(not there now and not in my computer's cache either so I cannot recheck or disply it here)
However I am convinced that that pic showed "Marty" with glasses, grey hair and a grey beard and was not at all much different to your own picture as displayed on your disturbing topic at:-
http://www.corfid.com/ubb/ultimatebb...871;p=1#000014
so where is this particular Grossman Graphics located?
apparently in both
Melbourne, Florida - 321-984-1987
and
Philadelphia Area, PA - 215-694-7966 or 65
Fax 321-984-2812
I have checked an archived page from 2005
which gave a previous phone number:-
Please call (856-231-4451)
but 856 is in NJ
and the current 215 does not include Harrisville
bur per reverse number look ups is in
Philadelphia.
for example
"The phone number "(215) 694-7966" is based in Philadelphia, PA and the registered carrier
is Verizon Wireless"
further googling shows some disagreement on grossman graphics' location anyway as some sites show a (possibly old) address in Mount Laurel NJ others in Philadelphia
and this one:-
http://www.infospace.com/home/white-pages/reverse-phone shows:-
"Grossman Graphics
From concept to finish. All with a personal touch. Since 1974
2454 Lakes Of Melbourne Drive
Melbourne, FL 32904"
I thought I was on sure ground when I looked at:-
http://www.grossmangraphics.com/links.htm
which has a link to:-
http://www.digitaldoktor.com/
which in turn leads to:-
http://www.digitaldoktor.com/music.htm
where grossman graphics offer customised album sleeces etc like the ersatz Beatles one I displayed above
which is obviously akin to your recent efforts here.
This all semeed to agree quite nicely so I naturally jumped to conclusions.
If this is not true you must agree that there are remarkable coincidences.
I had hoped to say "what do you think Dr Watson"

But now I am looking forwards to your comments
John Fowles
Regarding your contrived displyed name
Have you ever googled for "zoneranger"?
There are 11,500 results
searching within them for "profile"
you get zonrerangers interested in garage bands kayaking rockclimbing etc.
I also found that your collection of covers montage on your topic at:-
http://www.corfid.com/ubb/ultimatebb...c;f=1;t=003727
the picture whose address is:-
http://members.myepath.com/rskmjgrossman/7.jpg

is not appearing so maybe there is a problem with your ISP http://www.myepath.com??
