There is a "Happy Birthday" thread about 20 topics down. You can post your message to Gord there and Char will pass it along through to Gord.

Oops. I did the math wrong. Today is his 68th birthday. He was borned in '38, so if you add 67 years, it would only have come out to 2005. But it's 2006. (I got it wrong because when I was thinking of his birthdate, I thought of the line from "Drink Yer Glasses Empty"),

I know his birthday wont get mentioned on the news here. Maybe on oldies Kool Fm.

A great big happy 68th Gordon!

(Sung to "Cotton Jenny" )

There's a man,in O-ri-llia,
who's having another birthday uh-huh!
He sings Sundown til the sun goes down,
and sings songs with wonderful sounds!

...when he comes,to your town,
and the hall lights fade all around...
We can be sure of another good time,
playin' music from serene to sublime!

We ain't got a penny for a present any to spend,
but then,we thank him year 'round!
Year after year 'rou-hou-hou-hound!
With his joyful sound!

May he live,100 years,
and keep the momory of clapping & cheers.
Happy birthday once again to you..for everything that you do.

In you words and and your ways,
you've shown us how persistance pays &
you've been yourself,no matter,come what may,
why we shout Gordon Lightfoot hooray!

(back to chourus). :D

Oh! ..and stay tuned for "the #1 songs on Lightfoot's birthday" list! Yep! '38 to now.
Bye all!

Yeah it's funny like that, "thread enders" are sometimes not intentional but they do the job. Someone could do their doctorate dissertation on the subject. Don't take it personally, LOL.
