Default Youtube video

I noticed this video from the Paramount Theater that is a professionally produced multi-camera video. It actually looks better than the PBS special from Reno. But it is a shortened version medley of the performances.

Bill,
That is "Live at Reno". Someone just stuck a new date on it.

Thanks for posting it Bill, it is a great video for sure. You are correct when you say it is from "Live In Reno."

I do not consider that there is any doubt or mystery here.although the uploaders (see below) were it is true rather disingenuous.
But it is plainly and simply a very well put together one minute promotional medley of the the Reno DVD comprising snatches of IYCRMM Rainy Day People and Sundown, made as an advertisement for the November 2007 Paramount Theatre concert and quite possibly therefore recorded from a television commercial.
It is very well done so it might have been issued out by Gord's concert promoters, or even his "Publicity Lady"??
And if you look closely you can even realise that the game was given away also by the fact that it was uploaded buy none other than the "Paramount Theatre" itself, who may of course have arranged for this customised version to be concocted??

"The Paramount Theatre - Aurora, IL. Gordon Lightfoot performs at the Paramount on September 16, 2007."
Amazingly they even spelt "theatre" correctly not once but twice in a row !!!
It is but one of 29 youtube videos the theatre have uploaded to obviously promote their shows
One other good thing the "trailer" has been viewed nearly 9000 times, so hopefully a few others have been reminded of or introduced to the Poet Genius at work
Furthermore video producer guitarman2214 said it already in his reply to a comment by
bernardbriggs(5 months ago)
"This is actually part of the Live in Reno concert! "
"Yea you are right...I think they were just advertising that he was "going to be there"
More recent is this comment
bobblewood(1 month ago)
Saw Gord last night (2/12/08) in Asheville NC. The video above is not recent (I think it is the Reno DVD from a few years ago). He has no bigger fan than yours truly. He sets the gold standard for folk song writing as far as I am concerned. Having said that, his voice has lost its strength in relation to what it has been, probably as a result of his near death experience of a couple of years back. Even so, I will never forget the performance. See him while you still can!!!
To which I can only say:-
Amen
I have to say that the opening visual is pretty clear?

As such it would be extremely useful should you know somebody who is debating whether to buy the full brilliant DVD, which is an essential for any self-respecting Lighthead or corfiddler who posesses such a thing as a computer DVD drive or a DVD player or an ipod or what have you!!
In checking that youtube page I noticed 5 "links" one of which is to
corfid and another is to the dreaded facebook:-http://apps.facebook.com/ilike/artis...ilroad+Trilogy
which in turn led to:-
http://apps.facebook.com/ilike/artist/Gordon+Lightfoot
which has a "fan wall" , video link and a far from complete upcoming concert listing
a list of those going (to what?) and others who would like to and so far "Total Fans: 12,474!! Says who???

The video is made available by LIghtfoot's US booking agent, using a production company. They have a sample at their web site:

I presume the venue/promoter has to pay for a custom video, but I have noticed that a good number of them do. They use them on their web sites, on YouTube (as we see), and probably some take local TV ads.
