Today I went out and got only my second Neil Young solo LP (on Cass.) "After The Gold Rush",which features his 1st hit,"Only love Can Break Your Heart" and the very controversial,"Southern Man". I also have "Harvest" which gives us the classics,"Old Man","Needle and The Damage Done" and his only #1 hit,"Heart Of Gold".

In the CSN&Y dept. I naturally have,"Deja Vu". The whole LP is great, especially,"Our House","Teach Your Children" and the Joni Mitchell penned,"Woodstock". Five star material!

Then there's my lone Neil Young and Crazy Horse LP,"Rust Never Sleeps". Which,as most of us know, features Neil's loudest song ever,"Out Of The Blue and Into The Black",sometimes known as,"Hey Hey,My,My (Rock and Roll Will Never Die!" I believe he's toured with this album as a backdrop about 2 or 3 times. Even on ABC's early 90s late night show,"ABC's In Concert",which I still have on VHS.

It's hard to pick one over the other as better or worse,I like all of these periods of his career.
I don't have any of his 80s LP's though. I really don't know if he and that decade co-habitated well with each-other. All I remember of that is the song,"This Note's For You!",a song that skewers Madison Ave. and the artists who sell their songs I.E.:their souls,to commercial advertising just for the $$$. I think it had to do with Steve Winwood selling one of his songs for a beer ad. Anyway, any opinions? Thoughts or what have you? Got Neil Young? (Milk ad joke!) Been me,Out Of the Thread and Into the Net!

How did you know it was me?
Well I guess I'm predictable already!
I love Neil's music, mostly his solo stuff. I don't have any albums but enjoy listening and playing his songs. Heart of Gold, Harvest Moon, My,My,Hey,Hey, Cinnamon Girl, you know all the good stuff! He has a new song out now, I heard it a couple times on the radio but forget the name. It sounds a little weird to me...

I didn't know he had a new one out. You like pretty much the same songs I do! I even have all 3 of his top 40 hits:"Only Love can Break Your Heart","Heart Of Gold" and "Old Man". On the LP side I have,"Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere","After The Gold Rush","Harvest" and the Crazy Horse LP,"Rust Never Sleeps" He's the original "grunge" rocker! Later!
