Summer Songs.
Might be a bit early but, why not?
This was one of those obscure 60's group.

Great song! But you wouldn't catch me standing out in the snow with my precious Martins.

Re: Summer Songs.
An old Sesame Street film about Summer and should of been a hit.
Wonder who's the lady singing?

Re: Summer Songs.
I can't post from You Tube but .........
California Sun - The Rivieras (Always reminds me of summer)
Summer Breeze - Seals & Crofts
Summer Nights - ONJ & Travolta and cast of "Grease"
Surely just about any Beach Boys song but "Warmth Of The Sun" reminds me of laid back summers in California when I was younger.

Re: Summer Songs.
Summer Breeze... I'd forgotten about that song. It's one of those that took forever to learn to play. I finally gave up and bought a Seal & Crofts song book with guitar chords, which came in handy during graduation, when I played We May Never Pass This Way Again for the class song.
I saw Seals & Crofts in concert in Bangor, ME, in 1975. No many people showed up, so we moved down to the third row. They put on a great show!

Well I might as well put up their summer song.
And as a bounus, here's the remake done some years back by Jason Mraz.
Only objection I have is he left out the 2nd verse.

Re: Summer Songs.
My personal favourites for summer songs would have to be Spanish Moss & Summertime Dream.

Re: Summer Songs.
Thanks for Summer Breeze, Touhy Ave. I haven't heard that song for such a long time. I remember I used to have a Seals & Crofts 8-track tape in the '70. I think it was their Greatest Hits, and I played it until it quit playing. I guess I should look for it on CD. I won't be buying Jason Mraz's version anytime soon, though!

Summer has come early here in the midwest so I might as well post another song.

It's the same way here in northern Maine. It's 75 right now, and is supposed to be warm again tomorrow. Our snow is melting quickly, and after tomorrow, all that will be left is a few snow banks. The ice is even breaking up in the river. I've never seen that happen before April 5th!
I love it!

Re: Summer Songs.
How about a nice happy feel good song from someone who is as much a Brazilian national treasure as Gordon is to Canada. Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66's Pretty World

I thought I'd post this other Kina Grannis video which also has a summer theme to it.

Re: Summer Songs.
Though she was a songwriter for most of the 60's, Carole King did make some recordings durring that time.
The following was recorded as a demo but ended up getting released as a single in 1962.
Sort of a rather gloomy summer song as it deals with someone who has either broken up with someor their partner is gome for the time beinf and can't seem to enjoy the season.

Guess he hesitated recording it for obvious reasons.

Re: Summer Songs.
If you click on the link it says at the bottom this song was released late in 63, which is interesting to have a summer song released in winter.
I even heard once that S&C's Summer Breeze was also released in late 72.
