I grew up watching the Beverly Hillbillies, and living in the Nashville TV market there was also a constant presence of Earl and others. His playing cut through all the bs of music biz and celebrity...just really really great tunes and technique.

Just finished reading the article on him. What can you add to it? Nothing that I can think of. He was just absolutely marvelous.
