Hi BillW, Ive heard so much about, "The Wolftrap." The stage is obviously, under that structure. For the people sitting on the grass, do they all see the show well? It looks like a real beautiful venue. But comparing it to an indoor theatre concert, is it as satisfying to attend a concert?

I hope one day to be able to go visit this, now for me anyway, "Famous Wolf Trap". There's got to be a story behind this. If it wasn't for this site, I woud have not known about it. Many great venues that I came to discover because of this site...Jesse.

JJ - here's a link to some images at GOOGLE - some great views of Wolf Trap and a sense of what it's like from the audience. Once the lights go on I'm sure the view is great. Sitting on a hill means everyone probably has a good sightline. I too would love to get there to see a show - but from the seats under the canopy!
lol

Jesse,

It's actually two words WOLF TRAP and it is a national park.

Wolf Trap holds the distinction of being America's only National Park dedicated to the performing arts !! (their words, not mine)

There is more than one venue but The Filene Center is the one that Gord and most musical acts play in.

It's pretty standard inside and the seats and configuration are just like any medium sized playhouse. It's nice because it's open to the air unless it's too hot but most night's it's lovely. The hill is sloped just right so that the party people/lawn sitters have a good shot at the show.

Check the link and look at the lineup - it's the same people that show up at Massey and all the other artsy places that Gord plays now at this stage of his career. It's like they follow one another around the US and Canada.

Plus it is a very beautiful park by itself. Come down some time and I'll show you and yours around.

Jesse,

If you have a minute check this place out - it's just a few hours drive from Wolf Trap and Gord has done back to back nights at these. First Wolf Trap and then The Keswick. Not this time around though.

Thank you kindly BillW, it is very impressive. I was surprised by the size. We have something down here, which would be, very small compare to The WOLF TRAP.

Had heard a lot about it, but this morning Charlene told me to go check Googles, and the pic that I posted there is amazing. The inside, like a real theatre atmosphere.

And then people sitting, on the grass all having a good view. I can just imagine, what the performer sees, looking at that crowd.

It is in Vienna, Va. That stands for Virginia? But you are from Maryland, so I will have to look up the map of the States. lol

Thanks for the invitation, you never know, Im due for a visit to the USA. Then when you will have met me, you can tell the rest of the Corfidians what a great friendly person I am. LOL

There are some that dont like me to much. That's life, I guess. Thank's again Bill, your a great guy.

All the best to you and yours...Jesse.

Ya, I actually did some research on the wolf trap after the pics were originally posted on this site. Looks pretty cool, wish we had something like that here in IL.
