I am 43 yrs. old. I know this sounds weird. When I listen to some of Gord's old stuff...sometimes I get the feeling that I have lived another life. Maybe in the late 50's. I don't really believe in 'reincarnation', but it is a really odd feeling. Did any of you listen to his music in the 50's? What was that time like to you? I wish I could go back in time. (just for a visit!) Linda

To In Awe: Hi,I'm Borderstone and welcome to the Site. It's not my site,I'm just welcoming you. Well,Gordon actually started his solo career in the early 60s when he recorded one album for AIM records,an album that is now called "Early Lightfoot". He signed with United Artists in 1965 and released 4 studio & 1 "Live" LP.

I'm sure the folks on here that did hear his music in the late 1960s will tell you it always will mean a lot to them.
For myself,I'm only 35 but truthfully, for a better part of my life,I've kind of felt i was born in the wrong era. Not sure which one I should have been born in but I know how you feel. When I listen to his music,it's like a different world than the one we all know. I'd like to travel to that world but not to the past.

I like the idea of reincarnation, don't know if i would totally believe in it but it is a nice thought. Have fun on here! Aurevoir!

Mid60s, first with the PPM (Peter, Paul & Mary for the young 'uns on the list) cover of Early Morning Rain. I'm in the habit of reading everything on an album (in the days of vinyl) or CD cover including songwriter credits so when I found Gord's name I had to see if he had any albums of his own out, and found "Lightfoot!" (1966) - been hooked ever since. Golly, almost 40 years now.
