Hello folks!!

I would like to introduce myself as the latest GL fan to find this web page! I am 33 years old and living in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I first heard GL's music, as many did, way back when I was 5 or 6 years old. I started playing the guitar at the age of 7 primarily due to his influence.

As I got older, I trained in classical guitar and followed that route for some time. I periodically teach classical guitar and am the founder of our local classical guitar society which now has over 50 members. I have not persued my folk/country roots for some time now, but I recently tuned into the Canadian TV concert special on October 15/2000 (recorded in Reno, NV) and within seconds from when the first song began my hair started to stand up. It was then I realized how powerful and influential GL's music has been on me. The next day I went out and purchased the 4 cd set "Songbook" and have been enthralled with it. (I never realized that Gordon sounded so much like Jim Reeves when he was very young! *G*)

-----

Has anyone heard about the possibility that Gordon might run a workshop for guitarists/singers?? Im sure there are many (including myself) that would cherish the opportunity to learn from him. I think it is important for the younger generation to learn and carry on the music of this living legend.

-----

Is there anyone in the Edmonton area that might be interested in putting a GL tribute band together or, at least initially, just jammin to test the possibility? I am a fairly experienced guitar player and had much practice "emulating" Gordon's voice.
