I found that Charlene had found something profound as per the title of this topic and and had posted it on the Newsgroup and thought I would risk steeling her thunder as she is obviously totally engrossd in scanning and displaying pictures!!?
I realise that politics are taboo here but
I have just stuck my sides back together after reading a lengthy discourse on the newsgroup at:- http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=e....earthlink.net
it includes a questionnaire and advice for Americans unhappy with last Tuesday's results.
It includes such great thoughts as:-
Our common currency will become Canadian Tire cash
You will, from this point on, pretend that Wal-Mart is a Canadian company.

From now on, you will no longer have to disguise Canadian landmarks while filming American movies.

Tell your children -- that last letter is 'zed. See silverheels they would not believe me here!!

As you know, none of these changes will effect most NHL hockey players in your states, since they're already Canadian

(3) Name two things Natasha Henstridge and Pamela Anderson have in common.

(6) If you're in Newfoundland, and ask the quickest way to "Dildo," where would they tell you to go?

One more thing -- don't worry about losing Florida. Canadians own it.

I heard on the radio that there were more hits on the Canadian website in the hours after Bush's acceptance speech than in the whole year. Canadians responded with there will still be 1500.00 cnd for application and up to a year wait, Americans would not get any special treament. The hits were "more than casual interest" the website said. I shall have no personal obsevations on this - just the facts.

just so that nobody takes this too seriously (you know, gets politically offended, etc) and so we can make this GL related somehow:

remember on the Conan late night skit when he was screening immigrants coming into Canada at the border in his Mountie suit? i recall he was testing Americans by making them recite lyrics to Lightfoot (the Wreck, no?)...sad, but I don't even know those lyrics, lol

that Conan week in T.O. was pretty overhyped and disappointing for me in many ways but THAT was one of the idiotic skits that made it all worth the while for me, i was SO tired staying up at that hour 5 nights in a row but it was a rare time where i was totally alone and found my self later suddenly awaking in bed still chuckling over it (but it was NOT worth $1M of my tax bucks, lol!)

oh, we also now have the Tim-Horton's-issued Rememberance Day poppy quarters as currency also, but i think that red dye wears off, eh?

if anyone wants to prepare for the border quiz:

I have a lovely map I could post of a picture of the "new" North America, but the board would erupt, people would scream and Char would come after me with a big stick.

Thank you for the humor.

Hey, Char: I am newly divorced, so thanks for the info. Maybe I can find a guy who really appreciates GL and my love for him!
