Default What Topics Could Gord Sing Of On Next CD?

I know we all have our fingers crossed in the hopes tha he may record a new CD but I got to thinking of something.

There's so many things going on in this day and age,do you think on the next CD he would go for a more topical direction?

I'd like to hear him record a song about the miners that were trapped underground recently or about those young people who lost their lives in the snow.

Not a whole album of serious topics but a few. What topics would you want him to touch on?

A song about the young soldiers in the middle east who have lost their lives and are still over there fighting (There's probably a few songs about it, but it'd be nice to here Gord to do one)

Perhaps a song about how life today is: the price of living keeps rising, crime rates are going up, gas prices keep skyrocketing, man is getting greedier, and the world is steadily becoming a lesser and lesser pleasant place to live (This world and this country has seen darker times before, like the Great Depression, so I'm sure things now could and probably will get better, so it's not like we're doomed)

When he does decide to retire, he could write a song about it. I had actually thought that the song 'A Painter' was a sign of his retirement (at least from songwriting).

It would be nice to see another one from Gord, and perhaps one or two tunes about how things are in the world today, but mostly I'd like to see tunes that have something to say about what's happening, but at the same time, to also point out the good things that are happening as well.

An interesting topic Walter ( a.k.a. The Sober Rodent) Coincidentally an email newsletter this morning brought me a link to a spoof report on Bill Gates' last day at work. Now being as how one could argue that Bill's perseverence with the Windoze Operating System that turned Big Blue's Personal Computer into the all can do resource most of us enjoy and benefit from was the biggest event of the last 20 odd years. I suggest therefore that despite Gord's lack of knowledge and use of the internet he could (perhaps with the assistance of Meredith) write some sort of musical tribute to Bill.
the youtube report on Bill is at:-

When Bill Gates gave his farewel CES keynote last week, he opened with a video that imagined what his last day at Microsoft might be like. A dozen guest stars, a string of self-deprecating references, and few vintage Star Wars action figures later, and we’ve got…well…not exactly an answer, but a least a few giggles for our trouble.
With apologies to the minority here who consider that the Mac was the source of better JOBs!!

as you can see I have started the long process of saving the video using Easy Video Downloaderlater after a mere 57 minutes and indicating only 32% the crazy program tells me that the download is "complete". fortunately on youtube threre are about 8 copies of this video so now I'll try another and try to get more than the 2 plus minutes that my crazy dial up deigned to download before giving up the struggle!!Dammit!!

An environmental topic along the lines of minimizing our impact on the environment.

Though I'm not a big fan of alternate history, I find myself wondering what things would have been like (in the US, anyway) if Carter's environmental/energy policies had remained in effect.

We were on the path to being more green, instead we built highways with extra lanes for carrying more cars-with emissions we can't 'see'. This ain't no Yunga Dryas, you know.

Personally I'd love for him to take a jab at George W. before he leaves office. LOL! He had the courage to talk about that "Black Day In July" and briefly touch on Vietnam and then poverty with "Circle Of Steel".

So how about a song called "A Figure of 8" (blasting his eight worthless years in office, not to mention talkng about the man's IQ).
