Re the quiz: I am new here and may not know a lot about GL, but I would like to learn. I took the quiz, knew some things, guessed others, and scored a grudgingly respectable 7/10. But how do I know which seven? The right answers never appear to be given.
So I'm home. Brother picked me up at the bus station, I told him what had happened and read him my handwritten copy of the letter I posted. He hasn't stopped singing Carefree Highway to himself since; figured out which song it was from the word "damned." I played him songs off Songbook as we drove to the house. I noticed he had every lyric to Sundown on ice, and he was what, maybe five or six when it came out? Even songs he'd never heard before, he could sing with by the end of 'em. He's obviously a fan too.
Which brings me to my topic. He and I got to wondering. Grateful Dead fans are called Deadheads. Star Trek fans are called Trekkies. Are Gordon Lightfoot fans already called anything? Because if we don't have a collective nickname already, I've got a suggestion. (My mother nominates maybe Footprints, but I have another idea.)
Some of us have experienced a "Gordon Lightfoot Moment," in which he has somehow affected our very lives. Expand the initials of "Gordon Lightfoot Moment," and you could get the word "glimmer," which connects to the "light" in Lightfoot. So are we "glimmers?"
Or maybe we're Footprints.
Or is the whole idea for the birds?

Gordon Lightfoot fans are called "Lightheads". I don't know how offical the title is, but it seems to have been the accepted name for quite some time.

Welcome aboard, AZroute74!!
We were all new here once, too. As far as the quiz, if you let us know what your answers were, we can tell you which were right.

OK, so I took it again and "knew" for sure only 3 answers. Where he was born, the year of Summertime Dream, and the length of Wreck, which I have personally timed at 6.28. The others were guesses, but this time I scored 9/10. Must have been paying more attention this time. But I still don't know which guesses were right.
Answers
1 c 1st song, "If You Could Read My Mind"
2 b (know) Summertime Dream year
3 a (know) birthplace
4 a (know) length of Wreck
5 a "wish you good spaces" lyric
6 c father's trade
7 b name of "Christian Island" ship
8 b floor
9 b "The Last Time I Saw Her"
10 c 1st thing from DQ's saddle bag

8 is a. The song is On Susan's Floor, one of the handful of covers that Gord recorded over the years.

Thank you. I'd heard DQ for the first time last night, falling asleep, and then I thought, well, I got that one right.
