Re: Original vs Re-recordings.
I really prefer the rerecording of "Affair on 8th Avenue" to the original. I find the phrasing of, for instance "and she showed me her treasures of paper and tin" where paper and tin are in a descending cadence as opposed to the ascending cadence in the original to be more pleasing to the ear. The vibrato on "only she could win" is superior in the rerecording, etc. I really over think this stuff. This is an incredibly sexy song and the line "her long flowing hair came softly undone" is just the best. I really don't care what people's sexual orientation is, but this song is a hetrosexual man's dream. So be it.
