As I've said on this board before to another who was leaving:
"We'll keep the light on for you"
Love him or hate him TheWatchman added some spice to this stew. If you didn't like the flavor I'm sure you're happy to see him go. But a diversity of viewpoints is what makes a discussion a discussion. And his departure will diminish the depth of some of them. I will miss his point and counterpoint style and his refusal to drop something he really believed in.
