I'm sure only he and his CPA know for sure as his income fluctuates daily, what with royalties etc. It's safe to say he's comfortably well off; also a good bet the dollar (Cdn) amount matters less to him than the work itself. I've no idea where he ranks in those annual wealthiest lists, but guaranteed wa-a-y below fellow Canadian Celine Dion, according to a 2001 year-end article in Canadian Business:
"Canadian Business magazine recently released its list of the wealthiest Canadians, and not so surprisingly, a few musicians made the list. The December 31/01 issue named Celine Dion as the top-earning musician, with an estimated wealth of $295 million, putting her ahead of the Molson family and even Jim Carrey (just to put things in perspective). The only other Canadian musicians to make the issue were, surprise, surprise, Shania Twain (tying Canuck-turned super spy Mike Myers) estimated at $80 million. Lilith Fair founder Sarah McLachlan ranked in with $40 million.
Guess starting out in Canadian clubs can work out after all..."
