For heaven's sake! The modern contemporary defenition of a ballad is quite simply:A Slow Song. "Beautiful" is a ballad. "Cotton Jenny" is a toe-tapper. "Sundown" is contemporary country & pop music. "Pop" is short for popular. The classic sense of Ballad, yes,is a poem or song that tells a story. Believe it or not,the theme song of Gilligan's Island is called,"The Ballad Of Gilligan's Isle." Hmmmm..I wonder how Gord would sound doing that one?? The legend lives on,of 7 castaways gone. On the big ship called S.S. Minnow. Who's fault can it be,I'll give guesses of three, but sure it's Gilligan we all know! Borderstone, outta here and Alberta Bound!
