Gwen Snyder: The Archies (better known in the real world as singer Ron Dante,along with studio players and vocalists,)recorded ,"Sugar-Sugar" in early 1969 and it was released in late summer on Calendar records. The song went to number 1 just after Autumn began Sept./October. In fact it stayed there for 4 weeks. Now,just so no mistake is made,I was only 1 then. I own a copy of The Billboard Book Of #1 Hits and have all the songs in it. Before that book came out I saw the old Archie cartoons re-run on San Diego's Xetv Channel 6. Never missed it. That's why I had my Mom order the LP from TV. Just for that son,but all the rest was cool too. It's been that plethora of music info. Borderstone,outta here and Alberta Bound!
